In accordance with a statement from Hockey India, Fulton, who succeeds Australian Graham Reid as head coach, will take leadership of the squad after all the necessary procedures have been completed. 
    On discussing his appointment, Fulton stated: Being chosen as the head coach of the Indian men’s hockey team is an honour. 
    India has a rich history and legacy in the sport, and I am excited to work with the current team, which has some very talented players, to continue this. 
    Craig Fulton, who? 
    The 48-year-old South African will transfer from the men’s hockey team of Belgium, where he has served as an assistant coach since 2018, to the Indian squad. 
    He was a member of the support staff that saw to Belgium’s rise in men’s hockey, including the team’s World Cup and Olympic gold medal victories in 2018. 
    In particular, Fulton has extensive coaching expertise in Belgium. He won the title of Belgium Hockey League Coach of the Year after leading his team, KHC Dragons, to victory in the 2020u201321 campaign. 
    Fulton began his coaching career with the English team Chelmsford before moving to Ireland to take over the Pembroke Wanderers club, which he twice led to the national league. 
    When he led the Ireland men’s hockey team to Olympic qualification in 2016, he established himself in the sport. 
    The achievement also earned him the 2015 FIH Coach of the Year award. This was Ireland’s first Olympic qualification in 100 years. He departed the Irish team in 2018 to work as Shane McLeod’s assistant in Belgium. 

    Future obstacles for Fulton.After India’s forthcoming Pro League games against Australia and Germany in Rourkela, Fulton is anticipated to take over as the coach.  David John and BJ Kariappa were previously chosen as the interim coaches for these matches by Hockey India.Comment down below.
