The charismatic ceremony was enhanced by the Canadian singer AP Dhillon, who is of Indian descent. His electrifying stage performance drove the crowds wild.
Following the dancing and singing, the stage was called up to include BCCI President Roger Binny, Secretary Jay Shah, and numerous other board members.
Before the first ball was bowled, the WPL generated hundreds of millions of dollars and attracted a raucous fan following in the cricket-crazy nation.

The WPL is the second-most valuable domestic women’s sport league internationally, after only US professional basketball in terms of franchise and broadcast rights, having brought in little less than $700 million for the Indian Cricket Board.
The Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur stated that the league would benefit both cricketers and the game. Some players will earn more for the three-week competition than they normally would for an entire year.
She told reporters on Friday that for the young ladies who don’t have many opportunities, it’s a terrific platform for them to express themselves. I believe that this event will aid in the development of a strong Indian cricket squad in the future.
The WPL, according to James Savage of the Deloitte Sports Business Group, was an unprecedented investment that demonstrated the great development potential of women’s cricket, he told AFP this week.
