The Delhi Capitals eventually won by 42 runs, their second victory of the tournament, as even a late flurry from Tahlia McGrath (90) couldn’t push the Warriorz over the line.
DC finished with a total of 211 for 4, with captain Meg Lanning leading the way with a 42-ball 70. Jess Jonassen and Jemimah Rodrigues also made valuable contributions, finishing with 42 and 34 points, respectively.
Despite McGrath’s unbeaten innings, the UP Warriorz could only manage 169 for 5 in 20 overs while chasing a big total. Jess Jonassen was the most successful DC bowler, taking three wickets for 43 runs.
source: Republic of gamesThe UP Warriorz chose to field, believing that the surface would suit pacers early on, but Delhi were able to neutralize that threat and post a challenging total. Lanning and her opening partner Shafali Verma (17 off 14) shared a 67-run partnership off 39 balls, with Lanning scoring the majority of the runs.
Warriorz made an unexpected decision to bench Grace Harris, who had single-handedly won them the previous game, in favor of Shabnim Ismail’s speed.
