MI had looked the most likely to take that direct berth at the halfway point, having won all five of its games. Its incredible run was cut short by Warriorz at this very location.
The formidable Warriorz spinners had played a significant role in MI’s first loss in the tournament. Sophie Ecclestone, England’s World No. 1 T20I bowler, had done the most damage in that game.
Deepti Sharma’s off-spin and Rajeswhari Gayakwad, another slow left-arm spinner, provided solid support for the left-arm spinner. In the spin department, Warriorz have even more options, led by the purple-cap-wearing Ecclestone.
Tahlia McGrath, the world’s top T20I batter, also wears the Warriorz jersey. In seven innings, she has four fifties. The MI attack will face more Australian batting power in the form of captain Alyssa Healy and hard-hitting Grace Harris (if she is fit).

MI should be happy that left-arm spinner Saika Ishaque has resumed her wicket-taking ways. Kerr’s leg-spin and Matthews’ off-spin have both been very effective. Seamers Sciver-Brunt and Issy Wong have also taken wickets.
