The drill demonstrated the cooperation between strategic forces and Eastern Command soldiers for carrying out joint operations in hilly and high-altitude terrain. In selected greenfield landing zones, C-17 Globemaster planes, Chinooks, and Mi-17 choppers carried out multi-mode insertion operations. The deployment of specialised forces in a hostile environment needed to be done quickly, precisely, and brutally.

Following Vayu Prahar, a 96-hour multi-domain air-land exercise, the most recent drills were held. In the latter, C-130J Super Hercules and C-17 Globemaster aircraft from the IAF had to drop and pick up Army Special Forces at a designated Advanced Landing Ground.
Vayu Prahar was designed to enhance agency coordination for quick force mobilisation, transportation, and deployment. These drills, carried out by specially tasked, equipped, and trained units, show the defensive forces’ combat readiness. India is well prepared for any misadventure or provocation from across the LAC, and this is sending a loud and obvious message to China.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, who stated earlier this week in Uganda that people were now witnessing a different India that no longer took things laying down, also emphasised New Delhi’s proactive stance. He said that the nation could handle its national security concerns, citing Uri and Balakot. India must therefore increase its defence cooperation with friendly countries.

A notable project is Dharma Guardian, an annual exercise involving the Japanese and Indian military. The same goes for multilateral exercises like the one that will begin in France next week as well as bilateral military exercises with the other members of the Quad (the US, Australia, and New Zealand).
Sharing best practices in tactical operations’ tactics, techniques, and processes will undoubtedly provide India a better position against both China and Pakistan.
