In the latest news on the Madrid Open, Iga Swiatek and Alexander Zverev have advanced to the next round of the tournament. Swiatek, the 2020 French Open champion, defeated Estonia’s Anett Kontaveit in straight sets, winning 7-6(4), 6-0. Zverev, on the other hand, beat Belarusian qualifier Ilya Ivashka in two sets, winning 6-4, 7-6(7).

Both Swiatek and Zverev are looking to continue their strong form at the Madrid Open. Swiatek, currently ranked 15th in the world, has already won one title this year, at the Adelaide International in February. Zverev, the world number six, has also had a successful year so far, reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open and winning the Mexican Open in March.
The Madrid Open is one of the biggest clay court tournaments in the world, and features some of the top players in the game. The tournament runs from April 30th to May 9th, and is being played at the Caja Magica in Madrid, Spain.
