In a highly anticipated match of the IPL 2023 season, Lucknow Super Giants took on the Chennai Super Kings at the newly-built Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. However, the match ended in a no result due to heavy rain, which had been predicted before the start of the match.
The toss had been won by the Lucknow Super Giants, who chose to bat first. Their opening batsmen had gotten off to a solid start, scoring 45 runs in the first six overs. However, just when they seemed to be settling in, the rain started pouring down, forcing the players to rush off the field.
The rain continued for over two hours, and the ground staff worked hard to get the ground ready for play. However, the match officials eventually decided to call off the match, as the playing conditions were deemed too dangerous for the players.
As per the IPL rules, both teams will share one point each for the match, which means that the Lucknow Super Giants move up to the third position on the points table with eight points from six matches, while the Chennai Super Kings remain in the fourth position with seven points from six matches.
Despite the disappointment of not being able to complete the match, both teams will take the positives from the game and look forward to their next matches in the IPL 2023 season.
