Manchester City’s Erling Haaland proved why he is considered one of the best strikers in the world as he set a new Premier League goal-scoring record in his team’s 3-0 win over West Ham on Sunday.
Haaland, who was signed by City in the summer transfer window, wasted no time in making his mark on the English top-flight, scoring a hat-trick in the first half to take his tally for the season to 23 goals in just 17 appearances.

The Norwegian international’s performance saw him break the previous record held by Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 21 goals in the 2007/08 season for Manchester United.
Speaking after the game, Haaland said: It’s an honor to break such a prestigious record held by a great player like Ronaldo. I’m really enjoying my time at City and I hope to continue scoring goals and helping the team win.
City manager Pep Guardiola was full of praise for his star striker, saying: Erling is a special player and we are lucky to have him. He has all the attributes of a world-class striker and he’s proving it every game. I’m thrilled for him and for the team.
With Haaland in such blistering form, City fans will be hoping that their team can go all the way and win the Premier League title for the fourth time in five years.
