According to a recent report, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) could earn a revenue share of up to USD 1.15 billion from the International Cricket Council (ICC) during the 2023-2027 cycle.
The report states that the BCCI will be entitled to 22.5% of the total revenue generated by the ICC during the cycle, which is estimated to be around USD 5.2 billion. This would result in a revenue share of approximately USD 1.15 billion for the BCCI.The revenue share is expected to come from a combination of sources, including media rights, sponsorships, and ICC events such as the World Cup and World T20.
The report also states that the BCCI’s revenue share could be even higher if they are able to host major ICC events during the cycle, such as the 2027 Cricket World Cup.
The BCCI has been one of the most powerful and influential members of the ICC, and has often been able to negotiate favorable terms in revenue sharing agreements.
The report comes at a time when the BCCI is also in the process of negotiating a new media rights deal for the IPL, which is one of the most lucrative cricket leagues in the world.
The BCCI’s financial strength and influence in the world of cricket has helped them become one of the most powerful cricket boards in the world, and they are expected to continue to play a major role in shaping the future of the sport.
