Novak Djokovic, the world number one tennis player, has advanced to the semi-finals of the French Open after a hard-fought victory against Matteo Berrettini. Djokovic won the match in four sets, with a score of 6-3, 6-2, 6-7, 7-5.
The match was closely contested, with both players displaying incredible skill and athleticism on the clay court. Djokovic dominated the first two sets, winning them comfortably, but Berrettini fought back in the third set, taking it to a tiebreak and winning it 7-4.In the fourth set, Berrettini had several chances to break Djokovic’s serve and take control of the match, but Djokovic held firm, eventually breaking Berrettini’s serve in the 12th game to seal the victory.
Djokovic will now face Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals, in what promises to be a classic encounter between two of the greatest players in tennis history. Djokovic will be looking to avenge his defeat to Nadal in last year’s final, while Nadal will be aiming to win his 14th French Open title and extend his record as the most successful player in the tournament’s history.
The other semi-final will be contested between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev, both of whom have impressed throughout the tournament and will be looking to reach their first French Open final.
