The news, which came as the NCP celebrated its silver anniversary, highlights the party’s problems more so than the happy family’s successful succession.

The news will have an impact since it is not only a slight against Ajit Pawar but also a vote of no confidence in him. Pawar is not likely to take it lying down. To evaluate Ajit Pawar’s influence inside the NCP, take into account: Second-rung leaders affectionately refer to Sharad Pawar, 82, as Kaka (uncle). In Maharashtra’s political circles, Sharad Pawar is frequently referred to as Saheb.
With the exception of Ajit Pawar and the state NCP chairman Jayant Patil, the NCP has not succeeded in producing many leaders at the state level during its 25-year history. Chagan Bhujbal is a member of the underprivileged classes, but he hasn’t been able to get to the level of the late Gopinath Munde. Sule is well-spoken and well-liked, but is more engaged on a national scale.
Two further problems are that the NCP is under the watchful eye of a prominent figure who previously came perilously close to becoming Prime Minister and that the party has not established itself outside of Maharashtra. It typically ends up in the third or fourth position even inside the state.
Prior to Sule, who entered politics almost 20 years ago, Sharad Pawar’s successor was thought to be Ajit Pawar. Given that Ajit Pawar is older than Sule and began his political career far before her, the June 10 statement is certain to cause disquiet in the NCP. While he may be maintaining his composure at the moment, tomorrow is a new day. Sule has always gone above and beyond to demonstrate her love and respect for Dada, portraying the Pawars as a large, contented family.

Even while some NCP officials are loyal to Ajit Pawar and he is not a pushover, Sharad Pawar demonstrated in May who the true head of the NCP was. It was his intention to prove to the dissidents, including Ajit Pawar, that he was the party leader by abruptly resigning as party leader and then withdrawing his resignation in response to multiple requests from supporters.
Pawar has made the most of a bad situation by designating 53-year-old Sule as the acting president. Sule hasn’t put in the same amount of effort as Ajit Pawar or is as knowledgeable about state politics. Sharad Pawar will need to work twice as hard since Sule lacks Ajit Pawar’s political acumen and the Lok Sabha elections are quickly approaching.
The difficulties for Sharad Pawar have increased since the BJP, which wants to establish itself in Maharashtra and divide the Shiv Sena, may now view the NCP as easy pickings.
