The complaint from the seventh complainant, a youngster, was withdrawn. It wasn’t a simple job advancing the charges to this point. Not only were they not heard, but there was more. They were humiliated, assaulted, and dragged through the streets. Only when the Supreme Court intervened were the FIRS filed.

The chargesheet’s submission is just the first stage in a protracted procedure that is likely to be challenging and even predictable. The allegations are under Sections 354, 354(A), and 354(D), which cover sexual harassment, stalking, and assault with the purpose to offend a woman’s modesty.
The women should be commended for remaining steadfast in their concerns against a strong individual and a non-responsive administration. They were made stronger by the broader society’s support. They were successful in advancing their case to the point where the government knew that refusing to budge would cost it.
That the system would endeavour to advance the cause and make it successful in order for the fight to finish happily for those who narrated the narrative and the majority of those who are watching it cannot be answered at this time. Now, it is a national cause. Because the female wrestlers continued in their fight despite all the difficulties against them, it may be proud of them.

The inability to bring the POCSO case against Brij Bhushan Singh to a logical conclusion was a significant defeat for the cause. Due to no corroborative evidence, the police have advised that the child wrestler’s complaint against him be dismissed and the charges against him be dropped.
Under Section 164 of the CrPC, the youngster had made two statements, one to the police and the second to a magistrate, accusing him of sexual harassment. She later dropped the grievance. It cannot be disputed that there are allegations that she withdrew it under duress. This issue would not have occurred if the police had responded to the report as soon as possible, as was required.
