In a recent interview, Sindhu expressed her interest in working with Hafiz Hashim, stating, I have always admired Hafiz’s playing style and his achievements in the sport. I believe his expertise and experience could provide valuable inputs to my game. Sindhu, who is known for her aggressive style of play and powerful smashes, has been training under the guidance of renowned Indian badminton coach Pullela Gopichand for several years. While Gopichand has played a crucial role in her development, Sindhu recognizes the need to explore new avenues to further enhance her skills.
Hafiz Hashim, who retired from professional badminton in 2012, has since ventured into coaching and mentoring young talents. His expertise and ability to analyze the game from a player’s perspective have earned him praise within the badminton fraternity. Sindhu hopes that Hashim’s insights and tactical guidance could provide her with a fresh perspective and give her an edge in the Olympic medal race.
While the potential collaboration between Sindhu and Hashim is still in the discussion stage, both parties have expressed mutual interest. Hashim, who is known to have a keen eye for talent, acknowledges Sindhu’s skill and believes that their partnership could be a fruitful one.

If the collaboration comes to fruition, it would not be the first time that Sindhu has sought external expertise to refine her game. In the past, she has trained with coaches such as Korean Kim Ji Hyun and former Indian badminton player Park Tae-sang, drawing valuable insights from their varied coaching styles.
As PV Sindhu gears up for the upcoming Olympic Games, her pursuit of a gold medal remains undeterred. By considering the addition of Hafiz Hashim to her coaching team, Sindhu hopes to bring a new dimension to her game and further enhance her chances of standing atop the podium at the pinnacle of badminton’s greatest sporting event.
