Brij Bhushan, who is accused of sexual assault and harassment, stalking, and criminal intimidation, appears to have strong evidence against him. The victims have provided details of Brij Bhushan’s wrongdoing and inappropriate touching to the police and the IOA Oversight Committee, which is looking into their claims.

No slack should be taken in pursuing the MP’s case. As it stands, the wrestlers have put out a valiant effort over the past several months to bring the powerful Brij Bhushan to justice, led by international medalists Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, and Vinesh Phogat.
The courageous players, who were fighting for justice, organised a demonstration in Delhi and defied police intervention as they attempted to march to the new Parliament building on the day of its opening. After much hesitation, the authorities finally gave them a guarantee, at which point they backed up and decided to limit their conflict to the courtroom.

If the judicial system is undermined or the accused is treated leniently, it would be a great disappointment for the wrestlers and for women in sports in general. It is crucial that the politically influential Brij Bhushan be dealt with harshly because doing so will show that there is no tolerance for such crimes in the athletic world, which is allegedly rife with predatory males in high positions.
