But many of them represent various social classes. Some of them are fragments of the previous NDA parties, which the BJP was able to split. It has claimed to have 38 parties in its camp as opposed to INDIA’s 26. Large coalitions need to look good and want to impress.

The BJP claims that the Opposition’s meetings in Patna and Bengaluru had nothing to do with the decision to organize the meeting, but it was undoubtedly a meet-for-meet activity. The BJP’s confidence in taking on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on its own may have been damaged by the defeat in the Karnataka Assembly elections in May.
Over the years, the Shiv Sena and the Akali Dal, two major parties in the former NDA, have mostly defected, and Nitish Kumar, the leader of the JD(U), has joined the opposition. A realization that the party would face significant electoral hurdles in several places where it is not in power could also have occurred.
Even though Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to have widespread support and strong electoral appeal, particularly among the BJP’s traditional vote bases, there are signs that the attractiveness may be waning. Modi and other prominent BJP officials were present during the NDA meeting. The purpose of it was to highlight the achievements of the government in the last nine years and to discuss the upcoming elections. But hardly nobody talked about the elections. The Prime Minister praised his own NDA as a sign of coalition and contribution that was formed with a shared objective and to fulfill a rainbow of regional aspirations while criticizing the Opposition alliance as opportunistic and one born out of compulsion. His assessment of the opposition coalition would be far too accurate for the NDA.
The NDA has been renamed by the prime minister to stand for New India, Developed Nation, and Aspiration of People of India. He declared that for the alliance, nation first, security of the nation first, progress first, and people empowerment first were the guiding principles. All of this is campaign rhetoric used by the new NDA to take on INDIA in 2024.
