    The authorities’ back-and-forth, when they initially claimed that the cop’s family had concealed his mental health condition and then dropped the claim, is indicative of their lack of tact in handling such a serious matter. 
    Coming from a military where soldiers are routinely examined for medical fitness, it reveals a more serious problem plaguing the personnel: a lack of institutional support for the overworked soldiers who serve in difficult posts for extended periods of time. 
    They might be quite upset by an arbitrary transfer policy and a departure rejection. According to a study sent to the MHA, jawans who are operating under pressure are prone to become aggressive when their concerns are not handled. Sadly, the statistics indicate that giving kids access to weapons can result in lives being lost.

    Because discontent among the jawans might result in suicide and fratricide, the government must take action to solve it. Between 2018 and 2020, there were 658 suicides recorded among members of the CRPF, BSF, CISF, SSB, ITBP, and Assam Rifles. According to the MHA report presented in the Lok Sabha in April, 29 people were slain by their coworkers in the previous five years. Another expression of the issue is the rising tendency of these employees choosing VRS. A thorough investigation is necessary since it represents a significant loss in terms of life and production.
