    While the G20 countries are scheduled to undertake conversations on globally significant topics including food security, debt restructuring, and collaboration on climate change, the Russia-Ukraine war will undoubtedly be the talk of the room. 
    India has skillfully navigated a diplomatic minefield regarding the simmering war in eastern Europe during the past 18 months. It speaks well for both New Delhi and Washington that they haven’t let their disagreements on this issue weaken their close bilateral ties.

    Although China has stated that it is ready to work with all parties to ensure the success of the Delhi summit, it would be unreasonable to expect Beijing to support the US-India position on the Leaders’ Declaration, the joint statement that has frequently proved to be a point of contention at G20 summits. Russia, a major ally of China, would be similarly affected. India and the United States will undoubtedly continue to be on the lookout for potential moves by Beijing and Moscow to sabotage the G20 summit.
