The Army must thoroughly investigate the aggravating circumstances in such cases, despite the fact that a Court of Inquiry has been requested. The suspected gunman in the Bathinda incident had asserted that he had been the victim of sodomy and had killed the alleged offenders in order to exact revenge for the crime done against him.

    Following an incident at an Army base in Surankote in the border region of Poonch in J&K in July of last year, two soldiers from the Army were murdered and two more were injured in fratricidal fire.These occurrences, which have a negative impact on the morale of the military services, shouldn’t be kept under wraps.

    The lack of specific information from the government frequently fuels unfounded supposition. Truth-telling is a requirement before coarse adjustment. Additionally, the grievance resolution process must be urgently improved, and preventative measures must be taken to avoid a flare-up. Particularly those stationed in border regions, soldiers must endure difficult working circumstances.
    They become weak both physically and mentally under acute stress. The emphasis should be on meeting their needs in a timely manner and enticing them to seek therapy or psychiatric care when faced with mental health problems. An unstable soldier is not acceptable as a comrade in the Army.
