The committee recommends an intense, legal, institutional inquiry by the Government of India in a time-bound manner in light of the highly objectionable, unethical, heinous, and criminal conduct of Mahua Moitra, the report states.

While Moitra has freely acknowledged that she gave Hiranandani her parliamentary login credentials, she has denied that this has brought her any financial gain. Regardless of whether the MP received anything in kind or cash, it is unethical for her to share her ID and password with an unauthorised individual.
Moitra’s argument is rendered even more unsustainable by the fact that Hiranandani had a personal stake in bringing the Adani Group’s actions under parliamentary scrutiny. As one of the opposition’s loudest members of the current Lok Sabha, Moitra has never held back while criticising the Modi administration. Nonetheless, her credibility has suffered greatly as a result of the current situation.

She no longer has the moral authority to charge the BJP-led Centre of corruption and cronyism because of her purported exchange for the businessman’s favour. Her attempts to adopt a victim role have likewise proved to be unsuccessful. It was all a plan to divert attention from the real issue when she accused the head of the ethics committee, Vinod Kumar Sonkar, of asking her filthy and personal questions and organising a walkout with the opposition panel members.
It was a mistake on the part of the committee not to call Hiranandani in for questioning. Moitra is going to have a lot more problems because a high-level investigation is planned. In the lead-up to the Lok Sabha elections, this is bad news for the opposition group, INDIA, as well as the Trinamool Congress.
