    Gukesh showed a combination of cunning and perseverance as he defeated experienced opponents in 14 exhausting rounds of classical chess. Gukesh held his ground when taking on very skilled players, including as Ian Nepomniachtchi, Fabiano Caruana, and Hikaru Nakamura.Under the guidance of the renowned Viswanathan Anand, Gukesh personifies the elevated status of Indian chess in the global arena. 

    The champion, who exudes modesty and dedication, claims that his motivation is not to set records but rather to play the greatest chess possible. This bodes well for him as he gets ready to face Ding Liren of China later this year in the World Championship.Interestingly, a record five Indian players qualified for the Candidates event this year, making it a historic year.
