In a concerning development, relatives of Mumbai MP Ravindra Waikar have been booked for allegedly attempting to use a mobile phone to tamper with an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). The incident occurred during the Maharashtra Legislative Council polls in Mumbai.

According to reports, the accused, who are related to Waikar, allegedly tried to use their mobile phones near the EVM to unlock it. This action was promptly noticed by polling officials, who immediately intervened and prevented any tampering. Subsequently, a case was registered against the individuals under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Representation of the People Act.
