With a historic gold medal on the line, the Indians fought back in the third set.India got off to a good start in a must-win third set, taking an early 8-6 lead. They extended it to 16-12, then 24-17, and appeared to be in a commanding position to easily force Iran into the fourth set. The Iranians, on the other hand, fought back hard, winning 5 points in a row before India won 25-22.

Iran came out firing in the fourth set, unaffected by what happened in the third. They led from the start and left no room for error, winning the match 3-1 and defending their Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball title. However, this is India’s first medal in the event since a bronze medal finish in 2010. With this medal, India now has six medals from the continental tournament, three silver and three bronze.
