Hardik Pandya was India’s standout performer, with an outstanding all-around performance. After captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to field first, the Babar Azam-led team was limited to a score of 147 on the board. For the first time in T20I history, the Indian bowling unit’s ten wickets were all taken by pacers.
The highlight of the performance, however, was Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s four-wicket haul. Meanwhile, Pandya got the ball rolling with a three-wicket haul that included the dismissal of several key top-order batsmen, including 42-run scorer and in-form opener Mohammad Rizwan.
Hardik completed the job with the bat for the Men in Blue, scoring 33 runs in 17 balls after India’s top order struggled and the Pakistan pacers put up a valiant fight. He was unopposed at the crease and hit a six to give India the win.
The thing about India-Pakistan clashes is that fans can’t get enough of the rivalry, and no matter how exciting the previous match was, people are always looking forward to the next one. With Rohit Sharma’s team defeating Hong Kong by 40 runs, here is the only way for cricket fans to see another India-Pakistan match during the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 competition:
The six participating teams were divided into two groups of three. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 4, where each team will play once. Hong Kong is competing in Group A alongside India and Pakistan.
India has already qualified for the Super 4 after victories over Pakistan and Hong Kong. This basically means that Pakistan’s match against Hong Kong will be a knockout. This basically means that Pakistan will need to defeat Hong Kong on Thursday (which is very likely) in order for the two arch-rivals to meet again – but this time in a knockdown setup.
