Brahmastra Part One-Shiva has only been in theatres for two days, but the film has already sparked a million fan theories and speculations. The fantasy epic directed by Ayan Mukerji is intended to be the first in a trilogy and the cornerstone of the Astraverse, a new cinematic universe. And fans are already wondering how the franchise will evolve in the future.
Here’s the trailer of the blockbuster-

There will be Brahmastra Part One Shiva spoilers ahead!
Needless to say, this article discusses fan theories as well as the film’s pivotal post-credits (more like post-film) scene, which contains major spoilers. So, if you haven’t seen the film yet, now would be a good time to stop reading. The first part of Brahmastra follows Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor) on his journey to discover he is a part of the hidden world of Astras. He learns of a secret society called Brahmansh that protects and guards these astras.
One of the film’s most significant revelations, which also sets the course for the franchise’s future, is that Shiva is the son of two Brahmansh members, Dev and Amrita, who fought each other 30 years before the events of the film. The head of Brahmansh, Amitabh Bachchan’s Guruji, tells Shiva that his father Dev wanted to control Brahmansh, but it was his mother Amrita who stopped him with the Jalastra. Deepika Padukone appeared briefly as Amrita. The heroes then discovered that the film’s antagonist, Mouni Roy, was a disciple of Dev who sought to’resurrect’ him.
As the film came to a close and the credits rolled, a scene revealed that as the Brahmastra was restored, Dev was resurrected. A brief montage showed Dev’s massive statue crumbling and a muscular, long-haired Dev emerge, holding a trident. As the scene ended, the title of the sequel was revealed: Brahmastra Part Two: Dev. The second instalment will clearly focus more on Dev and Amrita’s story, and fans are already speculating on who will play Dev.
While Dev’s face was never revealed, many Reddit users speculated that it must be Ranveer Singh. The kind of character they described- negative, egoistic- he would be perfect, one wrote. It has to be Ranveer based on the body structure of the actor shown, unless they just used a body double, another fan commented. Other fans suggested that since Deepika played Amrita, it would be natural to see their hit pairing on screen. Some fans thought Hrithik Roshan was a strong contender for the role.
There is currently no information on Brahmastra 2 other than the title, which has only been revealed in the theatre and has not even been formally announced. Ayan Mukerji had always intended the film to be a trilogy, and given the success of Part 1, it is almost certain that it will be made. When that happens, however, is anyone’s guess.
