The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squad for the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, starting on November 22, 2024. The five-match Test series will see Rohit Sharma leading the team as captain, with Jasprit Bumrah serving as the vice-captain.

Notably absent from the squad is Mohammed Shami, who is still recovering from an injury, and Kuldeep Yadav, who is unavailable due to a chronic groin issue. Additionally, Axar Patel did not find a place in the squad. However, the inclusion of Washington Sundar, who recently scored a century for Tamil Nadu in its Ranji Trophy match against Delhi and took a career-best 7 for 59 in the ongoing second Test against New Zealand, is a significant boost for the team
