In the midst of the incredible feat, Pakistani skipper Babar, who had been struggling with his form in recent matches, silenced his detractors with a 66-ball century, hitting 11 fours and five sixes – a mighty innings through and through.
He simply nudged the ball and singled to get to the other side of the plate before celebrating with his batting partner.
Unfortunately for Virat Kohli fans, Babar Azam’s 66-ball century was insufficient. Despite his thunderous performance, they were only concerned with the fact that Babar completed his tonne with a single.

To further dilute the Pakistani captain’s achievement, they began comparing it to Virat Kohli’s 71st century against Afghanistan in India’s final Asia Cup 2022 match.
The emphasis was also on Kohli swinging for the fences despite the enormous pressure of overcoming the three-year drought of the century.
