Star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has arrived in Perth and begun his practice sessions at the iconic WACA Ground ahead of the highly-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. The series opener is set to take place at Optus Stadium in Perth on November 22, 2024.

    Pant, known for his fearless and aggressive style, has an impressive record against Australia. In seven Tests played on Australian soil, he has scored 624 runs in 12 innings at an average of 62.40, with a strike rate of 72.1. His previous tour in 2020-21 was particularly memorable, with standout performances including a 97-run knock in Sydney and an unbeaten 89 that led to India’s historic victory at the Gabba.

    The Indian team is gearing up for a challenging series, especially after their recent 0-3 defeat to New Zealand at home. Pant’s return to the Australian shores is seen as a significant boost to India’s chances.     Following the first Test in Perth, the series will move to Adelaide for the second Test, which will be played in the day-night format from December 6 to 10. The third Test will be held at the Gabba in Brisbane from December 14 to 18, followed by the traditional Boxing Day Test at Melbourne’s MCG from December 26 to 302. The series will conclude with the fifth and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3 to 7
