In a recent interview, Roshan reminisced about the casting process and the memorable performances that brought the film to life. He highlighted Rakhee’s powerful portrayal of Durga Singh, the mother who believes her sons will return to avenge their deaths. “The way Rakhee performed and said those lines with such conviction made the base of the story. Had she just said the dialogue simply, nobody would have believed it, but her eyes and the impact she brought to the moment made it believable. It created a vibration on set,” Roshan said

Roshan also shared a humorous anecdote about casting Amrish Puri as the menacing Thakur Durjan Singh. “Amrishji asked me, ‘Do you think Karan Arjun will return?’ I replied, ‘The more brutally you kill them, the more fiercely they will return to kill you.’ His intense portrayal perfectly set the stage for the revenge-driven plot,” Roshan recalled
The director emphasized the importance of the film’s emotional core, which centered on the bond between a mother and her sons. “Mostly films on reincarnation are made on love stories, this was the first time the film was made about the relationship between the mother and two sons. I established that current of lovers meeting again between the two brothers,” he explained.
Reflecting on the film’s enduring success, Roshan credited the dedication of its cast and the powerful performances that resonated with audiences. “Karan Arjun became a huge success, with its blend of action, drama, and emotional moments making it a cult classic,” he said.
