Allu Arjun made his debut as a lead actor with the film “Gangotri” directed by Raghavendra Rao. While the film was a superhit, Allu Arjun admitted that he didn’t quite deliver as an actor. “I made my debut as a lead actor with Raghavendra Rao garu’s Gangotri. He delivered a superhit, but I didn’t deliver as an actor,” he said

After the release of “Gangotri,” Allu Arjun found himself without any offers. “No one came to work with me after the release of the film. I was jobless for the next year,” he revealed. It was during this challenging time that Sukumar, who was making his directorial debut with “Arya,” approached Allu Arjun and offered him the lead role

Sukumar’s faith in Allu Arjun turned out to be a game-changer. “A debut filmmaker came up to me and offered Arya. There has been no looking back since then,” Allu Arjun said, expressing his gratitude towards Sukumar. The collaboration between the two resulted in the success of “Arya” and its sequel “Arya 2,” and later, the blockbuster “Pushpa: The Rise” in 2021

Allu Arjun went on to praise Sukumar, who was absent from the event due to his busy post-production schedule. “When I look back at my career, and if I have to point out the one person who had the maximum impact in my life, it would have to be Sukumar. Even now, he is busy with the post-production. His absence speaks louder than his presence. I miss you, Sukku. We are all in this together.”

The event also saw the launch of the song “Kissik,” a special dance number from “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” featuring Sreeleela for the first time along with Allu Arjun.
