Throughout the game, Bavuma sought to add to his team’s score but was unable to do so, handing Umesh Yadav his wicket. SA’s scoreboard read 48-1 after the Powerplay. Despite the Indian bowling onslaught tonight, Quinton de Kock and Rossouw kept the scoreboard going with boundaries and singles. Shreyas Iyer’s toss ran out Quinton de Kock with an SR of 158.14 and 68 out of 43 balls scored. Rilee Rossouw scored 100 runs, his greatest individual T20I total, as he continued to hit fours and sixes. It was his first T20I century.Chahar’s dismissal of Stubb with a score of 23 put a stop to the potentially dangerous alliance between Rossouw and Stubbs (18). Following his departure, Miller rejoined the crease and hit three consecutive sixes to Chahar, giving India a target of 228.The Men in Blue were unsteady from the start in reaction to the SA’s power-hitting innings. Rabada sent Rohit back to the pavilion with a score of 0 on his second delivery of the first over. Shreyas appeared to be in good form today, but he was caught LBW by Parnell in the following over with the score at 1 run. He jumped back and missed the leg-side clip, causing India to lose their review as well.Following that, Dinesh Karthik batted at No.4 tonight, and the audience was startled to see him playing at this position since they were anticipating the SKY show. Dinesh and Pant were pounding the SA bowlers with fours and sixes as they attempted to develop a promising partnership for the squad. Lungi Ngidi, though, ended this promising partnership by removing Pant (27 runs off 14 balls) on the final delivery of his over. Pant swatted 20 runs in Ngidi’s over, but it was Ngidi who won this little skirmish.Following this dismissal, none of the Indian hitters, including Suryakumar Yadav and DK, could withstand SA’s superb bowling assault. DK (46 of 21 balls) was clean bowled on the penultimate delivery of the 7th over while playing a reverse swipe to Maharaj. Pretorius sent SKY to the Indian dressing room in the following over with a meager score of 8 after smashing a broader ball to deep extra cover. Stubbs correctly evaluated the ball and executed a forward dive to eliminate India’s best player.Harshal Patel and Axar Patel attempted to keep the scoreboard moving with singles, doubles, and boundaries, but Harshal couldn’t stop himself from hitting hard on the South African bowlers’ errant deliveries. Harshal lost his wicket while attempting to knock a six off Ngidi’s slower off-cutter. Miller’s stunning grab at long-off terminated Harshal’s inning (17 of 12 balls).Parnell removed Axar, and the tail-enders were unable to add many runs to the scoreboard. Deepak Chahar pitched a critical inning for Team India, helping them to a respectable score of 178. South Africa delivered a clinical performance to prevent the whitewash. The series provided various learning opportunities for India and South Africa ahead of the start of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. India has to improve its bowling and fielding, while South Africa needs to do a lot of study in every department, particularly in developing an opening pair. Let us hope that both teams do well in the T20 World Cup.
