The Uttar Pradesh government is gearing up to unveil a new export policy aimed at boosting the state’s contribution to India’s total exports to 7.5% by 2027. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that this initiative aligns with the state’s goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy, reinforcing its position as a key player in the country’s economic landscape.

Officials have highlighted that special economic zones (SEZs) and export hubs will play a critical role in achieving this target. The policy includes measures to simplify regulations, provide fiscal incentives, and improve logistics infrastructure to make exports more competitive.

Another key component of the policy is skill development. The state government plans to train over 10,000 individuals in export-related skills, ensuring a workforce capable of meeting global standards. Additionally, the government is working on strengthening partnerships with industry leaders and export councils to identify opportunities and challenges.

Uttar Pradesh’s current share in India’s exports is around 5%, and this policy seeks to address bottlenecks in trade and logistics. By improving connectivity through projects like the Jewar Airport and expressways, the government aims to reduce export turnaround times significantly.

This ambitious plan reflects UP’s commitment to fostering economic growth and creating employment opportunities. By capitalizing on its vast resources and strategic location, the state hopes to attract global markets and become a major export hub in the coming years.
