Amritpal Singh, currently detained under the National Security Act in Assam’s Dibrugarh jail, will assume leadership upon his release. In the interim, Tarsem Singh will manage the party’s affairs.

The launch event, themed ‘Panth Bachao, Punjab Bachao’ (Save the Community, Save Punjab), is expected to draw significant participation from the Sikh community. Supporters, including Faridkot MP Sarabjit Singh Khalsa, son of Beant Singh, one of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassins, are anticipated to attend.

This development introduces a new dynamic to Punjab’s political landscape, potentially impacting existing parties like the Shiromani Akali Dal. The forthcoming Maghi Mela is set to be a pivotal event, with the formal announcement of the party and its agenda.

The situation remains fluid, and further updates are anticipated as the launch date approaches.
