Jadeja has been recovering at the National Cricket Academy since his surgery during the 2022 Asia Cup, in which he played only two games for India against Pakistan and Hong Kong. Jadeja has shared videos of his recovery in recent weeks, giving the impression that the all-rounder is making steady progress and is on the mend.
Hardik Pandya, meanwhile, has been rested from the ODI squad. Pandya is set to captain India in their away T20I series against New Zealand, which will follow the ongoing T20 World Cup.
Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and captain Rohit Sharma have all been rested for the New Zealand tour, but will all be available for the entire Bangladesh tour. Deepak Chahar will also play on the tour after being named to the ODI squads for both the New Zealand and Bangladesh series.
He will be back soon. We are hoping to play for India again soon. We rushed Jasprit Bumrah before the T20 World Cup and you saw what happened, so we want to be patient now. NCA team is looking after him well. Right now, we are a little cautious about including Bumrah.
India will visit Bangladesh for the first time since 2015. It is also the first time they have played a multi-match Test series in the country since January 2010. Bangladesh has yet to defeat India in the longest format of the game since their first Test in the year 2000.
The tour will begin with an ODI rubber in Mirpur from December 4 to 10. This will be followed by two Test matches, the first of which will begin on December 14 in Chattogram. The tour will return to Mirpur for the second Test, which will take place from December 22 to 26.
