Tickle stated that Hales has stated that he would not dress in that manner now, but that he did not consider his actions racist or insulting at the time. He is now wiser and more experienced. Tickle concluded that Hales’ attire and the manner in which he posed for the photograph did not indicate any racist or discriminatory intent.
During the CDC investigation, Hales, who issued a public apology after the photo was published by The Sun in 2021, questioned the need for repeated publication of these old items, but the adjudicator, Chris Tickle, decided that the objectives of transparency should prevail.
According to the CDC study, Nottinghamshire, Hales’ county, has already examined, cautioned, and asked whether it is necessary to give the topic additional airtime.
Hales and Jos Buttler were at the top of their game in the second T20 World Cup semi-final against India, chasing down 169 in just 16 overs.

Both batters continued to hit boundaries on a regular basis, leaving the Indian bowlers completely defenseless. England’s opening pair, Hales and Buttler, put on a 170-run partnership for the first wicket to help the Three Lions cross the finish line with all ten wickets in hand.
After the semi-final, Hales talked about England’s convincing win and the conversations he had with captain Jos Buttler in the middle. He also talked about how, after being kicked off the national team due to a failed drug test, he never expected to play in another World Cup.
