The Congress is set to hold a three-day plenary session in the second half of February, which remained one of the talking points of the first meeting of the steering committee – constituted by new party chief Mallikarjun Kharge – on Sunday, it was revealed during a press briefer. The Bharat Jodo Yatra – being led by Rahul Gandhi since September – was also the focus during the discussions among senior leaders of the grand old party, including Sonia Gandhi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.We have decided to hold a massive campaign – Hath se Hath Jodo Abhiyan from January 26. Under this two-month campaign, block-level pad yatras (foot marches) will be conducted. During this time, the party will handover a chargesheet against the Modi government as well as a letter from Rahul Gandhi. During this yatra, we would put a special emphasis on connecting with young people, party chairman KC Venugopal said reporters.Jairam Ramesh stated during the plenary that among other things, youth-related concerns would be the main focus. The Bharat Jodo Yatra will enter Rajasthan this evening. Over 2,500 kilometres, covering more than seven states, have already been travelled. There are approximately 1,100 kilometres remaining to travel, he underlined. With an eye on the 2024 elections, the Kanyakumari to Kashmir yatra seeks to rekindle the grand old party’s connection with the masses.
