Accidents are pretty common in this sector, with the data showing that 32 people lose their lives per day to railway accidents by either coming in front of the train or by falling off the train.
But this time, we have a very unusual and horrid incident that led to the death of an innocent. When the terrifying incident occurred at 8:45 a.m. on Friday, the train was going from Delhi to Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh’s Paharganj division.
This man, identified as Hrishekesh Dubey, was onboard in the general coach, sitting next to a window, when a rod from outside the train broke the window to enter the train and pierced through his neck. The body of the deceased was handed over at the next station, Aligarh station, to the railway police at around 9.23 a.m.There are claims that there was some work underway, but no such official confirmation has been given by the railways. The Indian Railways has tweeted about the incident, stating that the matter is under investigation by the GRP and RPF.This incident shook every person who has ever travelled through the Indian Railways. To predict how unsafe any place can be is next to impossible, but the question now arises: how cheap is life in our country that we could afford to lose it so easily?
