India got its Olympic gold medal as well. India not only performed good in Olympics but in other forums as well like Asian Games, common Wealth games etc. However football is the sport where India is not doing well, there are some instances where we can see that India is having some growth like commencing home premiere leagues for football, rise of Sunil chhetri which motivates some youngsters to join this sport. And still India is way behind to just participate in the football World cup.

That what has changed in India except for football the dynamics of Indian sport has been changing very rapidly. Well you should praise India government for that. Anurag Thakur speech in Lok Sabha clearly stats how current government is focusing on Indian sports. First infrastructure, as without proper infrastructure facilities a sport expertise cannot be achieved. Explaining this aspect Anurag Thakur said We are building 298 sports infrastructures across the country at a cost of Rs 2,736 crore. Earlier, only Rs 600 crore was being spent. We have started opening 1,000 Khelo India centres in rural areas of which 700 have been completed. We have made an inventory of over 16,000 indoor stadiums, open grounds, shooting ranges, athletic tracks or hockey grounds. It has taken a long time and still some states have not provided data.Second important factor which give boost to the Indian sports is increase in spending. Spending in sports has increased by multiple folds as said by Anurag Thakur Be it before a tournament or after, sometimes even in the middle of a tournament, PM Narendra Modi speaks to sportspersons to motivate them. It has had positive results… India has been winning more tournaments and medals in sporting events now. When we came to power in 2014, the budget of the ministry was Rs 1,219 crore. This has increased to Rs 3,062 crore in 2022. The spending saw a dip only Covid years. But still India has a long way to go, this is just a start and consistency should be maintained to achieve the end results. India need to be stand with China and USA in such sports program but government needs to give proper support to the sportsperson to do so. What do you think? Is there any change in Indian government approach towards sports ?
