In the very recent case of cyber fraud a man from Delhi was robbed for 50 lakhs from his multiple bank accounts via several missed calls. The victim is director of a south Delhi based security company.
The victim reportedly received numerous blank missed calls on his cell phones between 7pm and 8.45pm a few days ago, according to TOI. Some of the calls he answered, but none of them were answered when he picked up the phone. The victim was astonished to discover messages from Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) for nearly half a crore when he checked his phone later.Jamtara, Jharkhand, is where the case was reported as having its base. According to the claims, the Such scams typically occur when the con artists request that you download screen mirroring software so they may steal your bank account information, passwords, one-time passwords, and other financial information. Police believe that scammers may have carried out a SIM switch in this instance as well. The OTP and RTGS transfers were activated by the missed calls. It’s possible that they overheard the IVR of a nearby call mentioning the OTP.
