NHRC probe in hooch tragedy.

Accordung to the opposition party this probe was a political agenda by the BJP. Opposition condemns why such institution never probe in BJP led states, they alleged that this is just a tool to malign the reputation of state level government and nothing else. 
According to the opposition parties the Bihar government done really well in terms of alcohol ban been effectively implemented on the ground. Stringent steps was taken by the Bihar government to tackle bootleggers and arrack makers and argued it also deployed mass-outreach campaigns highlighting the dangers of consuming spurious liquor and reminding the people to prioritise their health.

The statement says the PM Narendra Modi is playing double standards in Bihar as first he praised the Bihar CM Nitish Kumar decision to ban liquor but now BJP members are criticising the government for the very same decision. u201cHowever, the ruling regime has once again demonstrated that there is no tragedy which it will not seek to leverage for its own political gain. Following these tragic deaths, the NHRC team rushed to the districts of Saran and Siwan in Bihar to investigate the hooch tragedy. The double standard of the Narendra Modi government is evidenced by the fact that from 2016, when prohibition was imposed by Bihar government led by JDU-BJP, to 2021, there have been over 200 hooch-related deaths in the state, but the NHRC never felt the need to investigate any such incident,u201d the statement said.Citing the examples of incident where the probe was not occurred as the BJP government was ruling the state. The parties wrote u201cIn the year 2021, 782 people lost their lives by consuming spurious liquor, of which 108 were from Madhya Pradesh alone and 104 were in Karnataka. In the last six years, 1,322 people died in Madhya Pradesh alone due to spurious liquor. As per data placed in Lok Sabha, 6,954 people have died in the country between 2016 and 2021. Yet, in none of these cases has the NHRC demonstrated as keen an interest as it has done in the case of Bihar,u201d the parties said.u201cIt is apparent that NHRC is being sent only to the non-BJP ruled states as the intent seems to be only to destabilise the Opposition-ruled governments. Sadly, the NHRC and NCPCR appear to have become the latest tools in the hands of the Modi government after using ED, CBI, IT etc to target political opponents for the last 8 years.u201d statement added. What do you think?
