Cirkus is designed as a comedy of errors, where we can recognise every recognisable component Rohit Shetty keeps including in his comedies, starting with his numerous Golmaal iterations.
In order to demonstrate that parvarish (upbringing) is more important than parivaar (bloodlines), a doctor (Murli Sharma) switches one set of orphaned identical twins for another. This is the type of absurd premise that Shetty runs with, tossing out loud-speaking characters, loud background music, and situations that are as absurd as possible. Therefore, you prepare yourselves for the typical loud, rainbow-colored Shetty tamasha, especially because you believe Ranveer Singh will be there to save it from its slushy bits. One pair each of Roy and Joy (played by Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma in dual roles) is reared in Bangalore and Ooty, respectively. After their father passes away, one Roy and Joy take over the management of a circus; the other Roy and Joy float around, waiting for their chance to join the gang. The Roy, who is the centre of attention at his circus, has a wife (Pooja Hegde), while the other has a girlfriend (Jacqueline Fernandez), who has an obnoxious father (Sanjay Mishra) who continually positioning himself to get slapped.
