At around 5:30 a.m., Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant’s car was involved in an accident. The incident occurred near Roorkee in Mohammedpur Jat. Pant claimed that he dozed off while driving, causing the car to collide with the divider and catch fire.
He was transferred to the Roorkee hospital and is now being transferred to Dehradun DGP Ashok Kumar addressed the media.
Pant was a member of the Indian team that defeated Bangladesh in a 2-0 Test series earlier this month. He had previously impressed with knocks of 46 and 93.
He was recently dropped from the T20I squad announced for the series against Sri Lanka and was scheduled to join the National Cricket Academy for a strength and conditioning programme ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in February.
Pant has been India’s regular wicket-keeper across all formats since MS Dhoni’s retirement and has been one of the country’s top batsmen in Test cricket over the last two years.
