Every year this place expects a lot of tourists during this time and so all the roads are jam packed resulting into hours of delay in traffic.Tourists on their way to popular spots like Atal Tunnel and Rohtang Pass were stuck for hours before they could get out of Manali.On Monday, 19,383 vehicles crossed Atal Tunnel in 24 hours recording one of the worst traffic load ever.We left at 7 am for Atal Tunnel but it’s been three hours that we are yet to get out of Manali, said Parveen, a tourist from Haryana.
Image source- Tribune India To ensure smooth traffic and law and order, Manali has been divided into eight sectors. Adequate police and home guard jawans will be deployed in each sector. The buses after deboarding passengers will not be allowed to park by roadsides and will be sent nearly 6-7km outside the town in open space. Officials will make sure that roads remain open even during snowfall, the DC said.But nothing actually lowered the spirit of celebration among the people. Many were seen dancing in the middle of the stagnant traffic and celebrating.A huge jam was also reported from Navi Mumbai to Raigad in Maharashtra.The craze of celebration among Indians and the whole world for the upcoming year is always very high.
