Pizza Hut has brought back its big ‘New Yorker’ pizza which is a cheese and pepperoni pie with foldable slices that is to be eaten on the go in true Manhattan style. To celebrate the relaunch of this, Pizza Hut decided to go big and break records for the world’s largest pizza! In collaboration with Pizza Hut was the famous YouTube star Airrack (Eric).
They decided to take it from New York to Los Angeles. The pizza was assembled at the Los Angeles Convention Centre which was big enough to hold a 13,990 square foot pizza. The gigantic pizza was put together by putting down layers of dough first, which was then painted with tomato sauce and toppings were added. It was then baked in parts. Total 13,653 pounds of dough, 4,948 pounds of pizza sauce, more than 8,800 pounds of cheese and roughly 630,496 pieces of pepperoni were required to break the records. The CEO of Pizza Hut, David Graves, told interviewers that the pizza would not go to waste and after its documentation for the record, it would be donated to local food banks.
