To that effect, IIT-Madras recently announced, that one of the startups from its incubators, has developed a new home-grown operating system called BharOS or Bharat OS.To keep the country’s data within the geographical boundaries Bharat OS is here to rescue! Bharat OS promises to be a more secure and private mobile operating system and is meant for Indiau2019s 100 crore smartphone users, who have no option besides Android and iOS, operating systems that are owned and managed by American companies.
BharOS was developed by JandK Operations (JandKops), which has a 30-member team and has been incubated at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras. u201cTested Indian u2018Operating Systemu2019 u2014 BharOS developed at IIT-Madras. A leap forward in PM Narendra Modiu2019s Aatmanirbhar Bharat journey,u201d Vaishnaw said in a tweet.BharOS does not come with any default apps and gives users access to only trusted apps from private store services.
