Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, made the controversial statement on Saturday that women should start having children at a suitable age between 22 and 30.
    Speaking at a gathering in Guwahati, Sarma asserted that women should have children between the ages of 22 and 30. Sarma advised women approaching 30 to get married soon, adding that if the women followed his advice, it would be good for both them and the child.The chief minister was discussing the state’s efforts to lower the mortality rate for new moms and infants. He claims that a high proportion of mother and infant deaths is one of the reasons for early marriage and conception before the appropriate age.We are pursuing legal action against people who pressure young women into becoming mothers. However, I would also advise ladies to have children before they turn 30.

God made our bodies in such a way that there is a suitable age for everything.The state cabinet decided last week to file charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (Pocso) Act against men who marry girls under the age of 14.
