Two games… I don’t mind playing on difficult wickets. I’m all for it, but these wickets aren’t designed for T20, he had previously stated.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reacted quickly to Hardik’s rant, reportedly sacking the curator who prepared the pitch for India’s second T20I against New Zealand.
Hardik’s complaint about the pitch came after Indian batters struggled against spin in the first two Twenty20 Internationals against New Zealand. Nobody expected the BCCI to act so quickly and make such a major decision as sacking the curator for failing to deliver the type of track the Men in Blue desired.
We’ll leave it up to you to decide whether an Indian captain should wield such power that a single remark can cost someone their job.
