Ajit Doval met US Secretary of State Antony Blinken earlier this week, during which they discussed enhancing their bilateral strategic cooperation and exchanged opinions on a wide range of global and regional concerns. In September of last year, Tim Barrow was selected to be the UK’s national security adviser. According to the official website of the UK Government, he was formerly the Political Director and Second Permanent Under-Secretary of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

India and the United Kingdom (UK) are partners in a comprehensive strategic relationship. The two nations have also concluded six rounds of negotiations for a trade deal and will begin the next round very soon.
Rishi Sunak made it clear shortly after taking office that he would approach trade discussions differently than his brief-term predecessor Liz Truss, who served as trade minister and set the tone for Britain’s negotiations. My approach will be one where we don’t sacrifice quality for speed, Rishi Sunak said, adding he remained committed to getting a deal with India. I want to take the time to get trade deals right.
In January 2022, India and the UK started talks on a free trade agreement between the two nations. The free trade agreement between the UK and India is well advanced. Even though trade between the UK and India is currently worth 29.6 billion pounds, India is only the UK’s 12th-largest trading partner. The two countries share a comprehensive strategic partnership with each other.
