The effect of this will be left to the BCI as to whether the AIBE is to be held pre- or post-enrolment, the bench, which also included Justices Sanjiv Khanna, A.S. Oka, Vikram Nath, and J.K. Maheshwari, stated.
The bench emphasized that an enrolled advocate must retake the AIBE exam in order to practice law after holding a non-legal position for at least five years. It adds that future consideration will be given to legal experience.
