A provision of imprisonment for a life term along with a penalty up to Rs 10 crore has been made for any person, printing press, service provider organisation, management system, coaching institute, etc found involved in unfair means in the entire competitive exam process. A provision of a three-year jail term and a Rs 5 lakh penalty has been made for any candidate found indulging in unfair means in a competitive examination either by copying or by making other candidates copy.
Image source- NewsOnAirIf a candidate is found guilty again in another competitive examination, then a provision has been made for the imprisonment of a minimum of 10 years and a fine of at least Rs 10 lakhs. Similarly, if a person is found conspiring with any firm conducting an organised examination, he/she will be awarded life imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 10 crore. If any examinee is found cheating, a provision has been made to debar him for two to five years from the date of filing of the charge sheet and in case of conviction, the guilty will be debarred from all competitive examinations for 10 years. If a candidate is found cheating again, a provision has been made to debar him from all competitive examinations for five to 10 years, which can go up to life imprisonment for repeat offenders.
