The trailer for Ram Setu followed Akshay Kumar as an archaeologist on a quest to find and save Ram Setu.
The trailer for Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie Ram Setu was released on Tuesday. The two-minute video revealed Akshay’s mission to find and to save Ram Setu in three days. In the National Treasure-style action adventure, Akshay plays an archaeologist alongside Nushratt Bharuccha, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nassar, and Satya Dev.
The trailer begins with a courtroom hearing in which it is disclosed that the state has requested permission from the Supreme Court to demolish Ram Setu. Nassar said in the video that India runs on the belief in Lord Ram and questioned how anyone could challenge this faith. He dispatches Akshay on an ancient historical mission to Ram Setu.
Akshay, who is accompanied on his mission by Jacqueline Fernandez and Satya Dev, defines the Hindi word ‘itihas (History)’ as it thus happened. Later, he realises that he was sent on this quest to be killed. Nushrratt Bharuccha is also seen in a short clip implying that finding Ram Setu is impossible. The trailer ends with Akshay emerging from the sea, a rock from the bridge on his shoulder, and his voiceover saying, There are millions of temples of Shri Ram in the world, but, Setu is only one.

The epic Ramayana mentions the Ram Setu bridge, which inspired the film. Ram Sethu is a chain of limestone shoals located off the south-eastern coast of Tamil Nadu between Pamban Island, also known as Rameswaram Island, and Mannar Island, off the northwestern coast of Sri Lanka. According to the Ramayana, Lord Ram and his army built the bridge to reach Lanka and rescue his wife Sita, who had been abducted by Lanka’s Demon King Ravana.
Abhishek Sharma directed Ram Setu, which was co-produced by his company Cape of Good Films, Amazon Prime Video, Abundantia Entertainment, and Lyca Productions. The film, which was shot in and around Ooty, Daman and Diu, and Mumbai, has been in the works for several years. It will be released in theatres on October 25.
